Hey everyone! Today I'd like to show you the Badger Mushroom Snake trio from Shiro Cosmetics! Yesterday the brand made an announcement on Facebook indicating this collection is being discontinued (and is on sale as a result), so I figured this was a good time to show it to you so you can decide whether you want to pick it up. I've also got an eye look at the end so you can see them in action. I'm following Kristin's lead and doing swatches over bare skin and two different kinds of primer now, so you may see me playing around with the swatch collage composition for the next few posts until I'm satisfied. If you have any feedback on the changes, don't hesitate to share it!

Shiro Cosmetics Badger Mushroom Snake Eyeshadow

From the website: BAD-JUH BAD-JUH BAD-JUH BAD-JUH!

Shimmery blackened chocolate with sparks of uncaring honey. Lip-safe!

Ingredients: mica, carnauba wax, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, tin oxide.

Personal Comments: Badger is super pretty! As the official description says, it's a very dark chocolate shade with gorgeous bronze sparkles in it. Here's a closer look at the bronze sparkles, via the swatch over UDPP and Pixie Epoxy:

I mostly use darker shades like this in my crease and outer corner, and I find it blends out into a softly smokey shade. It would make a stunning liner as well.

Swatches from left to right: swiped over bare skin, patted over Urban Decay Primer Potion, patted over UDPP and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. Photos taken in partial sunlight.

From the website: Comes after badgers.

Shimmery coppery-orange with a hint of golden sparkle. Lip-safe!

Ingredients: mica, carnauba wax, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, tin oxide.

Personal Comments: The official description of shimmery coppery-orange is perfect, though I can't say I see the golden sparkle. Regardless, this is a beautiful shade that looks an awful lot like a brand new penny. My only complaint about this shade is it seems a little prone to blending away to nothing (even over a silicone primer) but that's easily remedied by patting on more of it after the initial round of blending. Here's another shot of Mushroom.

From the website: OOOOOOHHHHHHH, IT’S A –

Bright, lightly shimmery chartreuse. Lip-safe!

Ingredients: mica, carnauba wax, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, tin oxide, yellow #5.

Personal Comments: This is an awesome, bright chartreuse, but as you can see it can definitely be toned down depending on what base you use under it. Well, as much as you can tone down chartreuse! If the rightmost swatch looks a little patchy, it's only because I goofed with the Pixie Epoxy. I love using ridiculously bright shades like this in my inner corner, as you'll see below.

I think these shades work awesomely together, so I did an eye look using just the trio:

To achieve this look, I started with Urban Decay Primer Potion, then patted a base shadow (I'm using Detrivore Ossuary) over top to help with blending. I put Mushroom all over the lid, blended Badger over the outer corner and crease, patted more Mushroom on to bring it back up to opacity (though you can see it's still playing a supporting role here), and used a damp brush to apply Snake to my inner corner. I wrapped up with brow pencil, mascara, tightline, nude pencil on the waterline, and undereye concealer.

So there's the collection! Make sure to check out the brand's Facebook page for updates about May's Color of the Month, a special anniversary shade, and a new collection based on Animal Crossing! I'll have swatches and reviews of all the new stuff up here as soon as I can.

Also, as a shameless plug, I've finally discovered Instagram and have been posting daily indie blush swatches and reviews as @agshells. I also occasionally post eye looks and swatches of things I'm testing out, which may include new Shiro products as they arrive...! As soon as I can figure out how to manage two Instagram accounts on one phone I'm hoping to create an official Indie Know account as well, so stay tuned for news about that. Have a great weekend everyone!
