The indie scene has always been of a bit of a mystery to me but since I stumbled into it, I've been so excited to learn more about the groups out there. Indie cosmetics are gorgeous and I think they deserve as much exposure as possible! I love swatching and discovering new indies and I hope our posts will be helpful to you in your own discovery process!

Hi there! I'm a scientist and ingredients nerd, and I'm so excited to tell you about some awesome indie products! I've been complaining about the relative lack of indie-focused blogs for a while now, and I finally have the opportunity to do something about it. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

I'm a half Thai, half Australian girl living in Australia who is tired of overpaying for imported cosmetics! Indie brands offer affordable, unique alternatives and most have international shipping available. My makeup collection is still mostly mainstream products as I'm rather new to indie brands, but I'm enjoying exploring the indie world and trying out new products.

I love the fact that indie products have simple, straightforward formulations, more interesting color and scent selections, and are typically very fairly priced compared to commercial products. I'm not indie-monogamous by any means--my bath and beauty collection runs the gamut from drugstore to high-end--and I'm a skeptic by nature, so if I recommend a product, it means I feel it stands up alongside any competitors I've tried, indie or not!

I decided to go with indie products when I first started learning how to get all dolled up because it fit my budget, and I never looked back! I'm still something of a novice, so I look at what I try with fresh eyes and a curious nose. I know I'm more likely to trust an indie company if word-of-mouth is good, so what better way to help out?
