This past week, Aromaleigh Mineral Cosmetics released their Holiday 2014 collection. This is a limited edition set of twelve eyeshadows. I imagine that the set will be around through at least December. This is about how long the Halloween collection, Diavoli, is around for (Diavoli is on the way out on 11/30).
From the Website:
This is a brighter, more festive assortment of shades than Aromaleigh's other recent releases have been. It's very seasonally appropriate and not just for the Romans. On their Facebook page, Aromaleigh mentions that these are made with multichromatic pigments, similar to the Diavoli collection. I found that the color shifts in this collection were much more subtle than those in Diavoli. This isn't a bad thing or a complaint, just a note that they're less IN YOUR FACE color shift and more of an oooo pretty color type of thing.
In terms of the colors themselves, there are five gold shades in the set and they all have a slightly different tone and finish. This is great if you're looking to create a gradient effect - one of my favorites is Oscilla, Sigillaria, then Munera - but you may not need all of them if you're looking for something more specific.
I found most of the shades consistent with Aromaleigh's usual, soft, eyeshadow formula but I did have a bit of trouble with one of the more glittery ones where the glitter would stick well to the sticky base (I used Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy) but the eyeshadow base was a little patchier. You can see what I mean in swatches. I only had this particular problem with Opalia. This is one of the shades with the most shimmer far as I could tell though the entire collection has plenty of shimmer.
If you prefer less of a sparkly effect, this may not be a collection for you. Aromaleigh does have plenty of other, less sparkly collections though you're still interested in the brand (Brilliant Deductions remains one of my all time favorites of theirs).

From the Website:
Saturnalia was a festival of light leading to the winter solstice, with the abundant presence of candles symbolizing the quest for knowledge and truth. The renewal of light and the coming of the new year was celebrated at the Dies Natalis of Sol Invictus, the “Birthday of the Unconquerable Sun,” on December 25.
Roman mythology of the Golden Age of Saturn’s reign differed from the Greek tradition. Saturn arrived in Italy “dethroned and fugitive”, but brought agriculture and civilization and became a king. As the Augustan poet Vergil described it, “he gathered together the unruly race” of fauns and nymphs “scattered over mountain heights, and gave them laws. Under his reign were the golden ages men tell of: in such perfect peace he ruled the nations.” (source: Wikipedia)

Personal Comments: One of my favorites in the collection. A soft grey-based blue with added gold shimmer. The blue in this shade is muted and the added highlight almost looks like a shadow effect. The grey comes out more in different lights. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: A rich taupe-y shade with brilliant aqua/gold/copper sparkles. If you foil this color, or rub it in to your lips or cheeks, it also leans to the rosy side!
Eye Shadow Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Ferric Oxide, Synthetic Fluorophylogopite, Carnauba Wax, Silica, Copper/Bronze Powder, Calcium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, Blue #1 Al Lake, Yellow #5 Al Lake, Red #40 Al Lake, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Palmitic Acid
This color is Vegan and Lip Safe! You can use this shade on your eyes, cheeks or lips.
Personal Comments: This was more of an antiqued gold than a taupe to me. There are soft brown notes but I didn't see any of the grey that I usually associate with a taupe. Either way, it's a gold shade with a pinky highlight. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.
