I'm at the point of my makeup collecting career that when I see a new product, I always have to debate about how close it is to something I already have. Fyrinnae is the exception. When they put out something new, my brain makes grabby-hand motions.

The newest from Fyrinnae is a set of eyeshadows labeled "Exquisites." This is a subset of the insanely popular Arcane Magic line which are eyeshadows with strong color shifts. These first five shifts are "Desi wedding themed. Vaguely." for those curious as to the inspiration.

The posting page says that they "have stronger color shifts without depending on an opaque base hue, making them stunning alone or over many other colors," though there are some Arcanes with amazingly strong color shifts so I'm a little up in the air as to how these actually compare. All of the eyeshadows have "Very sparkly finish" in their descriptions. Something to keep in mind since most other Fyrinnae eyeshadows tend to be more on the satin finish side.

From the website: Away from direct light, vibrant pink sparkle and shimmer appear to glow on sheer beige. Closer to light or at certain angles, it shifts to a bright golden peach shade. Very sparkly finish.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Mica, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Magnesium Stearate. May contain: Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Manganese Violet, Tin Oxide, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Dimethicone, Zinc Stearate, Ferric Ferrocyanide.

Personal Comments: One of the sheer-er shades in this set. Breathtaking is a soft peach shade with a satin finish. There are strong pink notes in the shade. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: Away from direct light, this appears a complex blend of red and blue hues. Closer to light or at certain angles, it changes to shades of green and gold. Shimmery finish, somewhat metallic when foiled or over a sticky base.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Mica, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Magnesium Stearate. May contain: Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Manganese Violet, Tin Oxide, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Dimethicone, Zinc Stearate, Ferric Ferrocyanide.

Not lip-safe

Personal Comments: I'm not sure why but this shade looks very "steampunk-esque" to me. There are strong antique gold notes with a very distinct green undertone. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: Varying shades of green and turquoise sparkle on a transparent light reddish brown base hue away from direct light. Closer to light or at certain angles, it becomes light blue and ruddy pink. Very sparkly finish.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Mica, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Magnesium Stearate. May contain: Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Manganese Violet, Tin Oxide, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Dimethicone, Zinc Stearate, Ferric Ferrocyanide.

Personal Comments: I think this is one of the most interesting in the set. It's a soft pink shade that manages a strong orange/beige shift. It is very shimmery. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: Pink sparkles mingle with a transparent pale bronze away from direct light. Closer to light or at certain angles, it shifts to gleaming greenish gold with with hues of peach and lime. Very sparkly finish.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Mica, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Magnesium Stearate. May contain: Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Manganese Violet, Tin Oxide, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Dimethicone, Zinc Stearate, Ferric Ferrocyanide.

Personal Comments: A bronze with a strong orange-gold highlight. I, personally, didn't see the lime. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: Turquoise-blue sparkle tops a sheer burgundy hue for a striking effect. Closer to light or at certain angles, it turns vivid pink. Very sparkly finish.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Mica, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Magnesium Stearate. May contain: Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Manganese Violet, Tin Oxide, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Dimethicone, Zinc Stearate, Ferric Ferrocyanide.

Personal Comments: The most shimmery of all five. Beware if you don't like shimmer and definitely always use a sticky base. This is a pale pink with tons of shimmer. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

  1. OMG seriously I am about to break the bank on the new NM Winchester Gospel collection and new Buffy colors, but these need to be in my life immediately! Just from the swatches, do you think Princess for a Day is different enough from Breathtaking to justify purchasing both? Of course one is cooler toned but you know in the effort of being responsible. :)

    1. I would say that Breathtaking is more peachy and Princess for a Day is more sparkly pink but you could probably get away with one or the other!
