When I was younger, I preferred the Simpsons over Futurama. But when I binge watched Futurama in college, I finally noticed the adult-variety jokes and the show was suddenly hilarious. I'm a bit sad that it had a short run but each reboot was progressively worse and I'm glad that they let it go before it went the route some of Matt Groening's other works.

Picking up Black Rose Minerals' New New York collection was a no-brainer for me. BRM has some great eyeshadows and after seeing these swatches from Ivy of Rock, Roll, Glam and Ellie from Personellietea, I was impressed by how well the eyeshadows matched their character inspirations.

See what I mean?

From the website: Like her classic pink sweat suit (that she never sweats in), this perfectly shimmery shade sparkles both wet and dry

Eye Shadow Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, zinc oxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium myristate and glitter powder.

SAFE FOR EYES, LIPS, FACE AND NAILS.

Personal Comments: On the show, Amy is always wearing a pink sweatsuit in this shade. It's a pale, baby pink with added shimmer. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: This silver shines with a touch of blue.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate, iron oxide, magnesium myristate and ferric ferrocyanide.

SAFE FOR EYES, FACE AND NAILS.
NOT LIP SAFE.

Personal Comments: Bender is a robot. Though I think he's a touch more grey than this eyeshadow is, the shiny satin finish is right on. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: This shimmery mint green compliments your fancy pajamas, perfectly.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: mica, bismuth oxychloride, chromium oxide green, tin oxide, silica, magnesium myristate and calcium aluminum borosilicate.

SAFE FOR EYES, FACE AND NAILS.
NOT LIP SAFE.

Personal Comments: This is the shade of Dr. Farnsworth's shirt! He usually wears a lab coat over it so I'm not sure if any of it has a satin finish but this pale green is a great color match. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: Are you walking on sunshine? You will be with this fine shade of orange. With just a touch of red glitter to compliment his favorite jacket.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, tin oxide, glitter powder, calcium aluminum borosilicate, silica, magnesium myristate, carnauba wax and aluminum oxide.

SAFE FOR EYES, LIPS, FACE AND NAILS.

Personal Comments: The red shimmer is very very subtle over this bright orange eyeshadow. The finish is barely satin. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: A non-flashy, matte green appropriate for a bureaucrat grade 37.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: chromium oxide green, iron oxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium myirstate and silicon dioxide.

SAFE FOR EYES, FACE AND NAILS.
NOT LIP SAFE.

Personal Comments: A completely matte, mossy green eyeshadow themed after my favorite Jamaican cartoon character. The color shown in the swatch is more accurate than the color of the macro. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: Not for the faint of heart, this one is sheer and sparkly dry and a deep glowing violet when wet.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: iron oxide, carnauba wax, magnesium myristate, mica, titanium dioxide, calcium aluminum borosilicate and silicon dioxide.

SAFE FOR EYES, LIPS, FACE AND NAILS.

Personal Comments: A shimmery lavender eyeshadow that leans purple or pink depending on the light. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: This sparkly dark gray is a jazzy compliment to any janitor suit.

Eye Shadow Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, tin oxide, carnauba wax, magnesium myristate, silicon dioxide and ferric ferrocyanide.

SAFE FOR EYES, FACE AND NAILS.
NOT LIP SAFE.

Personal Comments: I was surprised to see Scruffy featured in this collection over any of the other minor characters. It's a silver eyeshadow with a satin finish. Surprisingly complex. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.

From the website: This red coral shade shimmers with blue sparks

Eye Shadow Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, tin oxide, red #40 lake, magnesium myristate, carnauba wax, calcium aluminum borosilicate and silica.

SAFE FOR EYES, LIPS, FACE AND NAILS.

Personal Comments: One day, I will wear this eyeshadow with Shiro's Why Not Zoidberg lip color and it'll rock. A red-based coral that leans strongly toward red in direct light. Applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion and Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. This picture was taken outside in natural light.
